Choosing consistency over quantity.
In my last post I was going to ask you guys how your Ramadan was going but then I decided to ask myself that question instead.
So howโs my Ramadan going? Well I started off steady, started ticking things off my list of things to do this ramadan, but now I find myself being way too exhausted to even do anything on my list anymore, subhanโAllah.
Let me give you guys an example; I started off reading 20 pages of the Quran a day but now I barely read 4. And Iโve been feeling so guilty and anxious because of how much Iโve been lacking.
You see Iโve realised why Iโve been failing at this, itโs because instead of starting with baby steps, Iโve been overwhelming myself with activities.
What I mean is, maybe I should have started with 5-10 pages a day and increase it with each passing week or something. But I started with 20 pages a day which wasnโt easy tbh. It was a little too exhausting for me. So now Iโm going to try reading maybe 5 pages a day in shaa Allฤh. And Iโll do that with the rest of the things on my list in shaa Allฤh. May Allฤh make it easy for me (and you). Ameen.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, โTake up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.โ -(Bukhari)
