Another sign #3: The moon.
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?
Bismillahi Ar Rahman Ar Rahīm
Nuh - 71:15-16
Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?
English - Sahih International.
The Moon gets its light from the Sun. In the same way that the Sun illuminates Earth, the Moon reflects the Sun's light, making it appear bright in our sky.
Unlike a lamp or our sun, the moon doesn't produce its own light. Moonlight is actually sunlight that shines on the moon and bounces off. ~ WSU insider
Assalamu alaykum everyone 👋.
In today’s episode I’d like to talk about the moon and where it gets it’s light from.
The moon shines because its surface reflects light from the sun. And despite the fact that it sometimes seems to shine very brightly, the moon reflects only between 3 - 12 percent of the sunlight that hits it.
The perceived brightness of the moon from Earth depends on where the moon is, in its orbit around the planet. The moon travels once around Earth every 29.5 days, and during its journey, it's lit from varying angles by the sun.
This movement of the moon around the Earth and the simultaneous orbiting of Earth around the sun - accounts for the moon's different phases (full moon, quarter moon, etc.). At any given point in the moon's trajectory around the Earth, only half of its surface is facing the sun, and therefore, only half of the moon is lit up. The other half of the surface faces away from the sun and is in shadow.

I was so amazed when I found out about this, it’s really so fascinating, everything about outer space fascinates me tbh.
And Subhan’Allah the fact that this has been in the Quran for over 1400 years and it was discovered by scientists years after the Quran was revealed is really a proof of the noble Quran’s authenticity.
I’ve been experiencing writer’s block for a while now so please forgive me for copy pasting the article and not sounding myself I guess. I have two more topics I want to write about, but I’m not really feeling motivated and I honestly just feel like deleting my whole blog mostly because I’m suddenly feeling really insecure. May Allāh forgive, guide and make me and everyone reading this a better person, Ameen 🤲.
May Allāh forgive us and Accept our acts of ibaadah on this holy month. Ameen.
