As salamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuhu
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Quran verse I used in my last post
Ta Ha 20:124
And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
Made me think about a video of yasmine mogahed where she’d said something about people who prioritise this dunya that they feel like their live is falling apart like nothing makes any sense.
Anyway I noticed a lot of people complaining about being depressed and anxious in this generation, What if it’s because we’re prioritising this dunya?
I watched this video on yt and the man was talking about how sad it was that when majority of people wake up in the morning the first thing they do is check their phone and it’s so sad and hurtful cuz I’m guilty of that. But ever since I watched that video I’ve been trying not to do that anymore.
Anyway the man said whoever wakes up in the morning and their first concern is the dunya, that Allāh curses that person.
Three of the curses of Allāh on that person;
Anxiety and depression— like in the ayah whoever turns away from the remembrance of Allāh, he will have a depressed life.
They feel like they have so many responsibilities and no time at all especially for Allāh. Like when you ask them to read the Quran at least once a day, they claim they have no time, they claim they hardly have time to even pray subhan’Allah.
They feel like their life is falling apart like nothing is falling into place, like when they try to grasp this thing, they loose the other thing. They just don’t get their life anymore like nothing makes sense subhan’Allah
We pray for Allāh’s guidance always.

The amount of deaths I’ve heard of recently is really alarming. And the worst part is it’s not even old people dying anymore, it’s young people who didn’t know their life was ending soon, that they won’t witness the next Ramadhaan, this Ramadhaan and the scary part is there’s a large possibility some of us won’t witness it or even the end of it subhan’Allah.
I’ve seen so many memes about Ramadhaan and subhan’Allah every time I see them I just feel even more sorry for our generation Like ‘is that really what Ramadhaan means to you?’
I saw this meme and they were like mfs listening to music cuz Ramadhaan is coming or something like that and the guy had headphones on and he was crying. — I saw it yesterday but I can’t find it now
And there was one about people eating their favourite food now cuz Ramadhaan is coming etc
Why are they acting like Ramadhaan is a punishment? Like why? Do they not know the meaning and essence of this holy month?
Oh and let me not forget the ‘me before Ramadhaan and me during Ramadan’ memes like how can you be proud to even say that? Or even repost it? Like what is wrong with this generation????? Don’t they fear Allāh? He’s watching you and you could die at any moment, maybe even while reposting that.
But I think that’s the problem with this generation, they don’t believe they can die at any moment because I’m sure if they knew they’ll die minutes after posting something so ridiculous and stupid they won’t do it.
Like do you know how many people are in their graves begging for this opportunity. An opportunity to witness at least one Ramadhaan and do the right thing. The things they should have done but didn’t do. God.
“By Allah, if it was said to the people of the grave, ‘make a wish!’ they would wish for one day of Ramaḍān.” – Ibn al-Jawzī (raḥimahullāh)
And yet we complain about Depression and anxiety. Look at our behaviour subhan’Allah. Compare it to that of the sahabah.
I go on Instagram and I see so many people claiming they’re Muslims but not acting anything like it.
You know what I really hate with this generation it’s that “what’s your business?, you’re being judgemental” mindset every one has.
We are supposed to advice our Muslim brothers and sisters when we see them doing something unislamic or haraam
But anytime you see some one who has maybe abandoned their hijaab and you try to advice them they attack you with the ‘mind your business’ ‘oh you’re being judgmental’ they act like you’ve said something very insulting to them. And the worst part it’s not just them every one else attacks you. So now people are scared to even advice others.
I see Muslims on Instagram dressing like non Muslims and even acting like them and yet still claiming to be Muslim. That’s not what being a true Muslim is and you know it, you just don’t want to think about it cuz it makes you feel guilty. And every time an Islamic video comes up on your feed you either quickly ignore it or listen and feel bad a little then go back to your ‘woke lifestyle’.
If you know anyone maybe a friend or a cousin who is dressing and/or acting like a non Muslim and saying things like it’s all in the heart etc if you really and truly love that person and want to be in Jannah with them don’t ignore or pretend you don’t see what they’re doing because you’re ‘minding your business’. That’s not how the ummah of the prophet should be. We are supposed to look out for each other.
Surely humanity is in ˹grave˺ loss, except those who have faith, do good, and urge each other to the truth, and urge each other to perseverance. (Q103:V2-3)
Although they’ll have to listen for that because believe me I’ve tried and it’s a lot more difficult than just saying it but you can try by just doing little things like sending them videos of mufti menk or imam Omar Suleiman or yasmine mogahed or any Islamic reminder. Something that would remind them of their true purpose, why we were created in the first place. Because we all tend to forget why we’re here.
Also ‘It is Allāh who guides and Allāh guides whom He wills’ — so try praying for them.
For those with the ‘it’s your heart that matters’ mindset ponder on this;
***
We keep praying that Allāh takes our life when He’s pleased with us but when are we planning on pleasing Allāh instead of His creation when? Do we really expect Allāh to wait for us to please him before he takes our life???
Questions to ponder on;
Do you think Allāh is happy and proud of your lifestyle? Do you think Allāh is happy with the way you’re living?
If you died rn do you think you’ll go to Jannah or Jahannam. And do you think your deeds are enough to earn you Jannah ?
Compare your life with that of the sahabah. Are you really following the practice of the prophet?
Before you do anything ask yourself will this thing bring me closer to Allāh or distance me from Him?
I leave you with some of my favourite ayah from one of my favourite surah to ponder on;
Bismillahirahmaniraheem
No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed
And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember [their own sins], but how [i.e., what good] to him will be the remembrance?
He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my true life."
So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,
And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],
And enter among My [righteous] servants
And enter My Paradise."
(Q89: V21-30)
May Allāh guide us all and Grant us Jannah. Amīn 🤲.
